Men's Glycerin 23
The Shoe That Earns Its Place in Every Rotation.
Not every run calls for a carbon plate or a race-day mindset. Most of the miles that make you a better runner happen at a pace where consistency matters more than speed — and those are exactly the miles the Men's Brooks Glycerin 23 was built for.
Twenty-three versions in, the Glycerin has earned its reputation as one of the most trusted daily trainers in running. This latest iteration refines what already worked: a softer, more responsive forefoot, a more balanced heel-to-toe geometry, and an upgraded upper that makes every step feel considered. This is the shoe you lace up when the goal is to run well, not just run fast.
The Technology
DNA Tuned Midsole — A More Balanced Ride Underfoot
Brooks uses a process of nitrogen infusion to create different cell sizes within a single piece of foam. The heel contains larger nitrogen cells that allow the foam to compress more easily — acting like a soft cushion on initial contact — while the forefoot uses smaller, denser cells for a more responsive toe-off. In the Glycerin 23, Brooks added 2mm of additional DNA Tuned foam to the forefoot, bringing the heel-to-toe drop from 10mm down to 8mm for a more natural, balanced ride.
The result isn't a dramatic reinvention — it's a meaningful refinement. The forefoot feels more willing underfoot, transitions feel smoother throughout the gait cycle, and the midsole holds up across long efforts without going flat.
A More Natural Geometry
Deeper midfoot grooves help the feet flex and function more naturally, reducing the passive sensation common in highly cushioned shoes. The base of the Glycerin 23 is wider than before, adding stability to balance the softer and more flexible midsole. There's no rocker here — this shoe asks your body to move naturally through each stride, rewarding runners with good mechanics and supporting those still building them.
Triple Jacquard Warp Knit Upper — Built to Last the Run
The triple jacquard warp knit upper feels plush, soft, and accommodating without being sloppy, with a bit of natural stretch that wraps the foot nicely. A padded tongue, reinforced heel collar, and elasticated pull tab make getting in and out of the shoe effortless — and once you're moving, the upper stays quiet and out of the way.
