Fifteen Versions In. The Best One Yet.

Some shoes coast on their reputation. The New Balance 1080 isn't one of them. With the v15, New Balance made the biggest change in the model's history — retiring Fresh Foam entirely and introducing an all-new midsole compound called Infinion. The result is a shoe that honors everything runners have trusted about the 1080 for over a decade, while delivering a ride that finally matches the demands of modern training.

Taking back its place as the lightest premium neutral trainer on the market, the 1080v15 returns as a light, highly cushioned, and resilient shoe with enough versatility to carry you through easy miles, long efforts, and the occasional tempo without complaint.

The Technology

Infinion Midsole — A New Era for the 1080

Fresh Foam built the 1080's reputation. Infinion is what carries it forward. At the heart of the 1080v15 is New Balance's new Infinion foam — a midsole completely redesigned to solve a familiar problem for high-mileage runners: how shoes break down over time.

Infinion is a highly cushioned but resilient foam that provides a moderately soft, highly protective, and moderately responsive ride. It is not as soft initially as prior versions but has better resiliency and bounce — meaning the shoe that feels great on day one still feels great 300 miles later. For runners who've watched previous daily trainers gradually go flat, that consistency matters.

Weight — Finally Back Where It Belongs

The 1080v15 delivers a stunning 39g / 1.4 oz drop in weight compared to its predecessor, moving the icon into the front pack of modern daily trainers. At under 9.3oz for a men's size 9.5, it's the lightest the 1080 has ever been — and you feel it from the first step.

New Perforated Mesh Upper — Built to Breathe

New Balance cut significant weight from the v14 by introducing a new two-layer perforated mesh designed to improve breathability, with a molded contour design that adds a more modern look alongside seam-free construction. Ultra-plush padding at the heel collar and tongue delivers an immediate, premium step-in feel — and a gusseted tongue keeps everything locked in place once you're moving.

Outsole — Grip Where It Counts

Rubber coverage is concentrated in the forefoot and heel to add grip where most runners need it, while reducing overall weight by eliminating unnecessary full-length coverage from the previous iteration.
